Menomonee Falls Launch Update

Legacy was born - October 2, 2011!

Wow -- what began as a dream of RiverGlen Christian Church almost 2 years ago resulted in the official launch of Legacy Christian Church! Our postcards, web presence, and outreach to our community successfully got the word out -- and 319 people showed up! About 40 people from supporting churches attended to wish us well -- including the Simpsons, all the way from Owensboro, Kentucky! Enjoy the photos at the left, taken on our launch Sunday.

Updates

We've been very busy in our "post launch" days:

· Even with our "well-wishers" from out of town, and our launch team of about 50 people -- we had over 200 first time guests at our first service! Forty families filled out "connection cards" during the service, and we got to work right away, sending emails and handwritten postcards to follow up with each family.

· Typically, new churches see a huge drop in attendance after the "launch" weekend. We were so excited to welcome back 185 people on October 9, and 167 on October 16! We're continuing to follow up with the many first time guests we see each week.

· We've seen some great attendance in our children's area, and have more teenagers attending than we'd anticipated. So we're working to make sure we're bringing glory to God in serving those age groups.

· Feedback from our guests has been AMAZING. God is really doing something big here in Menomonee Falls! Below (in italics) are just a few quotes from the many, many, many emails and comments we've received over the last few weeks:

· What a WONDERFUL way to begin my week! I am so happy to have shared in the energy that was at your first service! EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! I enjoyed the music... and the Suburban Legends [our current sermon series] are just what I needed to hear this morning. Powerful ~ very powerful!

· I have been searching for a new church for quite a long time, my prayers have been answered! :)

· I am glad I was able to experience such a truly moving service! God was at work this morning!

· Legacy Church, what a breath of fresh air. My wife and I both left with a sense of peace and comfort. We enjoyed the service, your staff was all over the place - very helpful as we dropped our little guy at the kids area. God had been doing some amazing things in our lives this year. Our trip to Legacy was another God moment. Thank you, see you Sunday.

· I truly had reservations about coming to your church; however those were debunked by the true word that I received during service. I loved the service and so did my daughter (who both have been baptized and raised catholic). Thank you for restoring the message as it is supposed to be given. You truly gave me inspiration through your message. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! Will definitely be back...

· Dear Pastor Jerod, Thank YOU and your congregation for bringing our Menomonee Falls community a place where we can all gather to worship and get to know one another and God better! I must admit that your church is nothing like my husband and I have experienced in the past. I'm Serbian Orthodox and my husband is [from another denomination]. I have never gotten close to God in my religion, and my husband IS in touch with God, but not because of his religion. The unique approach in your services, the inspirational messages you share, the comfortable atmosphere, the talented young musicians that spread The WORD with music, the adorable little packets of [communion], the friendly, smiling faces that greet you at the door, and even the tasty treats and coffee that await us every Sunday, are just some of the reasons that my husband and I are giving Legacy a worthwhile try! Thank you again and keep up the good work!

Continue to Pray

Thanks so much for continuing to pray for Legacy! It would be great if you could join us in prayer about these things:

· We have to start by giving God thanks for His faithfulness, and for providing Legacy with such a successful launch.

· Thank God for all the guests who continue to attend Legacy for the first time.

· Pray that we will be able to stay diligent with our follow-up of guests.

· Ask that God would help people to become integrated into the life of Legacy. We don't simply want people to "show up." We want people to engage in a lifestyle of Celebrating what God does for us by worshiping with others, Connecting with Christ and others through meaningful relationships, and Contributing to our dream of building a legacy by getting involved in a ministry team.

· With new churches it is typically three years before the church can be self-supporting financially. Pray that God will continue to provide faithful partners who will support Legacy on a monthly basis.

· The high school is really working out well as a meeting place for Legacy. The custodial staff has been great, and asking many questions about the church. Give God thanks for that, and pray that we continue to have a good relationship with the school.
